Final concert of the participants ended the activity Music box

In the period from 20 to 24 July 2021, the activity Music box was realized in Koprivnica, and it gathered 17 young people from Croatia and Hungary. The Music box is the main activity of the project and consists of two music boxes for young people (10-25 years) where participants have the opportunity to acquire new music knowledge from various experts in the field of music.
Organized by the City of Koprivnica, activity included workshops of saxophone, classical guitar, electric guitar, keyboard and drums for all participants. The workshops included the aforementioned instruments, provided by the City of Koprivnica for this activity. In addition to individual lessons in the morning, the participants in the afternoon played music together and attended music theory lessons. With many obligations, the participants of the activity had organized free time. They visited the Library and Reading Room "Fran Galović" Koprivnica where participants were presented with equipment in Makerspace and had the opportunity to take a short walk through the library. In addition to the library, participants visited the Gallery "Mijo Kovačić" and see the exhibition Blues - the history of fashion in Podravina, they toured the town Koprivnica with expert guidance, enjoyed the „summer cinema under the stars“, attended a juggling workshop and similar. During the whole week in the evening participants, as well as all visitors, had the opportunity to participate in dance and music performances on Zrinski trg. Tuesday was intended for enjoying the dance performances, on Wednesday at the concert of Ivan Grobenski, Laura Mjeda. On Thursday the stage was enriched by the Tamburica band Mjesečina and the Folklore dance ensemble Koprivnica, on Friday by Filip Rudan and on Saturday by the musical band Tragovi. The activity was crowned with the final performance of participants on Zrinski trg.
After the successful implementation of activities in Koprivnica, the activity is planned to be held in Hungary if the epidemiological situation allows it.
The final concert of Croatian and Hungarian participants is a good example of how music knows no borders, nationality, geographical or linguistic differences, and that the two countries can really be connected through the music.
Through all organized activities we want to promote music among young people with all organized activities, to encourage creative work and thinking and provide opportunities for active participation in music because… Music is a universal language we all understand and feel.
