Croatian and Hungarian participants acquired new knowledge in the area of photography
A workshop titled „A small introduction into the world of photography: How to read and take photographs“ was held on November 5th and 6th 2020, via the Zoom platform.
The photography workshop was hosted by Koprivnica photographer Ivan Gundić. During the workshop, participants had an opportunity to learn more about the world of photos that surround us daily. As the workshop was attended by participants from Hévíz via Zoom platform, a Croatia-Hungarian interpreter was ensured. The theoretical part of the workshop showed various examples and interactive materials, in a relaxed atmosphere, through casual conversation, and questions were answered, such as What is a photograph?, How is it made? and What makes some photographs more interesting than others?
Since the workshop could not be held live due to the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the virtual workshop aimed to include as many participants as possible. The virtual “practical" part of the workshop included the comments on the previously sent photos of participants, to teach the participants small tricks to taking a successful photograph. Due to the large number of received photographs, the “practical part” of the workshop continued the following day, November 6th.
After the workshop, the participants have a task to take pictures of Koprivnica and Hévíz during all seasons in the period of one year. The best photographs will later be published in a catalogue/book which will serve as promotion material for the partner cities. Also, there will be photography exhibitions in both Koprivnica and Hévíz at the end of the project.
The workshop was recorded and can be viewed on the YouTube channel of the City of Koprivnica https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHx_QrcqiJk&t=988s.
This was the second workshop held within the project activity “Photography workshop”. The first one was realized virtually and was organized by the City of Hévíz on September 30th 2020.
