Final conference of the SHARE MUSIC project held

As part of the SHARE MUSIC project, co-financed by INTERREG V-A Program of cross-border cooperation Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020, the final conference of the project called the Closing Festival was held on Tuesday, 22 February 2022, in the City Hall in Hévíz. The event included the final conference of the project. The event was organized by the Hungarian partner, the Municipality of Hévíz.

The final conference of the project was similar to the Opening Festival with some changes – the project team of the cities Hévíz and Koprivnica as well as Hungarian pupils participated in the event live and seven pupils from Art School “Fortunat Pintarić”, the principal of the school Ariana Šandl and music teacher in Grammar School “Fran Galović“ Koprivnica, Darija Kivač, participated in the event virtually. Due to the new circumstances with COVID-19, the children from Croatia were unable to go abroad and participate in the activities during the Closing Festival. Deputy Mayor of Koprivnica, Ms Ksenija Ostriž, and programme and communication manager of INTERREG V-A Programme of cross-border cooperation Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020, Antonija Bedeniković, participated in the conference online.

Prior to the official part of the event, participants had a chance to enjoy the music performance of a popular Hungarian ensemble Musica Antiqua. The Deputy Mayor of Hévíz Jozsef Janos Kepli welcomed everyone and emphasized the importance of the cross-border cooperation between Hungary and Croatia, expressing the wish for the cooperation to continue. Considering the fact that the City of Koprivnica is the project holder, Maja Hlebar summarized the project results to everyone present, its planned and realized activities. Also, Nikoletta Endrődi, the winner of the singing competition “First Voice” was officially given her prize, the statue of a treble clef, a piece designed and made by artist and sculptor Dragutin Ciglar Lao.

During the whole event, a Croatian-Hungarian interpreter was present and the video link for the participants from Croatia was ensured.

This event concluded the final activity of the project. 20 challenging, but beautiful months of the project implementation are behind us. The project demonstrated that music truly knows no bounds, nor language barriers. The young people involved in the project connected through music, made friends, got to know and accepted the culture and the language of another country.

Through all organized activities, music was promoted among the young people, their creative work and thinking was encouraged and they were given an opportunity to actively play music because… Music is the universal language we all understand and feel.
