Photography exhibition set up in the centre of Koprivnica

Within the SHARE MUSIC project, co-financed by INTERREG V-A Program of cross-border cooperation Hungary-Croatia 2014 - 2020, a photography exhibition has been set up in the center of Koprivnica.

The exhibited photographs were taken during the project activity „Photography workshop“. The activity included two photography workshops during which the participants had an opportunity to learn about photography. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, workshops could not be held live, so both workshops were held online. The first photography workshop, organized by the Hungarian partner the city of  Hévíz, was held in September 2020 by photographer Csaba Ihász, while the second one was organized by the city of Koprivnica in November 2020 and was held by photographer Ivan Gundić. After completing the workshops, the participants took photos of their cities – Koprivnica and Hévíz during all seasons.

What makes this exhibition special is the fact that it was set up on solar stands which were acquired within the project. The chosen photographs taken during the project are presented on solar-powered sustainable outside exhibition stands. Every stand has its own solar panel. During the day, the panel recharges a battery with enough power to light the exhibit during the night. The acquisition of solar exhibition stands, enabled this unique exhibition for the wide public as it represents an innovative approach to presenting the city and its cultural and natural beauties. The city presents the project in the most attractive way, in the very center of the city, in order to reach the most people. Thus, the art of photography that says more than words is no longer exhibited in a gallery or a museum, but in the open space, enabling all interested people to be able to enjoy the art and spread positive messages of the project. This exhibition is also the present to “the old lady”, the city of Koprivnica, that has recently celebrated its 665th birthday.

The objective of the SHARE MUSIC project is connecting people in the cross-border through various activities, increasing music culture of young people, encouraging active participation in music and mutual understanding and respect for different music cultures. The city of Koprivnica is cooperating with the Hungarian city of Hévíz, and the project is worth almost 1,2 million kuna.

After the exhibition in Koprivnica, the exhibition of Hungarian participants will be set up in Hévíz. The Photo exhibition was on view from February 14-21 in the Gyula Illyes Primary and Art School hall. Photos of the exhibition are attached.
